PASTOR

The Reverend Dr. Gerald Parker, Sr., has served as the Pastor of Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas for since 1971.

 

He is married to the former Wanda Jean Hubbard and to this blessed union God has given three (3) daughters and two (2) sons. Both sons are Ministers: one is a Pastor in Columbus, Georgia.

 

Dr. Parker received his early education in the Little Rock Public School System. Dr. Parker is a proud graduate of the Class of 1966 of Scipio A. Jones High School. He attended Jarvis Christian College/ Hawkins, Texas.

 

Dr. Parker has studied at University of Arkansas, Arkansas Baptist College, The Missionary Baptist Theological Seminar, and the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

 

Dr. Parker has a Theological Degree from the Missionary Baptist Theological Seminary and in 1986 he received Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Morris Booker Memorial College. He was the Co-Founder and Dean of Religion of G.M.C. Bible Institute.

 

Dr. Parker currently serves as an Instructor for the Regular Arkansas Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and the Administrator for the Department of Biblical Studies National Baptist Congress of Christian Education.

 

In 1991, the Arkansas State Press selected him as Father of the Year. In 2000 and 2003, he was chosen Pastor of the Year by The Little Rock Baptist Pastor's Conference.

 

Dr. Parker has conducted revivals, seminary workshops and lectures nationally for many years.

 

Dr. Parker has written several pamphlets on Baptist Doctrine and Stewardship.
